Not a new signing - kind of one

CARDIFF CITY have made a signing, but not new blood joining the squad has midfielder Filip Kiss has agreed a long-term contract with the Welshman.

There is no official word from the club upon publishing this article.

Kiss joined the City on a season long loan in the summer with an option for it to become permanent tying up the 21 –year-old to the club until 2016. He has been on the radar of Cardiff City boss Malky Mackay for some time, first at his previous club Watford and on becoming Cardiff boss took to opportunity to bring him to Cardiff.

On signing the player said, “I want to stay well beyond the end of this season.”

Mackay’s view was clear, saying, “We would like to make this signing permanent if Filip enjoys it here and things progress.”

He flew in to the UK for talks from Kazakhstan where he was on duty with Slovan Bratislava for a European Champions League fixture. The South Wales Echo are reporting a fee of around £500,000 to his club Slovan Bratislava. The midfielder has featured in 28 games for the Bluebirds, scoring one goal in the 3-0 win at Derby. He is also captain of Slovakia’s under-21 team and is on the cusp of a senior call-up.
