Mackay linked with Newcastle striker

A story in the Daily Mirror is linking Cardiff City with another raid Newcastle United and Danish striker Peter Lovenkrands, 32, on loan. According to the paper Cardiff City boss Malky Mackay is hoping to use his friendship with his opposite number at United Alan Pardew to bring the player to Cardiff.

Promotion chasing Cardiff has been interest in enquiring a striker for something, and have Jon Parkin out on loan plus two young strikers who are also out on loan, Nathaniel Jarvis (Newport County) and Ibrahim Farah (Tamworth) both loaned out to gain experience.and Rob Earnshaw sidelined somewhat.

The Dane, 32, has made just two Premier League starts this season with Pardew awash with strikers ahead of Lovenkrands. The striker has just returned for injury and wants regular first-team football allow that cannot be guarantee if he was to join the Bluebirds. He is out of contract in May, and is in need of regular football.

Mackay recent signed midfielder Haris Vuckic from the Toon for a month loan, which could be extended until the end of the season if the two clubs can come to an agreement.
