I do know my spelling, grammar and punctuation is CRAP. I put it down to my lack of schooling preferring to mitch (truanting from school) rather than go to school. The joke is firmly on me now, which will bring a smile to any of my old English teachers.

Love a win any kind of win

IT was a good night at the Cardiff City Stadium last night with a convincing 3-1 victory over Peterborough, which should have put a smile on the face of Cardiff boss Malky Mackay after recent setbacks. While the Bluebirds were winning a number of rivals were dropping points with West Ham and Southampton who occupy the two automatic promotion suffered setbacks themselves. The top of the Championship table clash between the two ended in a 1-1 draw.

It took six crazy minute in the first half for the Bluebirds to sew the game up thanks to three goals and put them back in third, three points behind Southampton. You can never feel safe with Peterborough who have become a thorn in the side of the Bluebirds, can anyone forget 4-4 draw a few years ago. Feeling safe being four up at half time only to see a total collapse in the second half letting in four for the game to end in a draw. Only this season away at their place City were 3-2 up with three minutes of normal plus injury time at the final whistle Cardiff have lost 4-3 a game to remember for all the wrong reasons.

Last night it was Cardiff City icon Peter Whittingham who opened the scoring in the 34th minute when his corner when straight the net. Next up four minutes later was a bullet of a head from City striker Rudy Gestede at the end of the ball, goal of the night. The third was scored by recent loan signing Haris Vuckic minutes later and on his home debut.

This win could lead to a possible Carling Cup final call-up against Liverpool at Wembley on the subject of the final Liverpool were reported to have members of Kenny Dalglish back room staff at last night’s game.

Before the final, there is an important league game to get out of the way a trip to Ipswich. They have hit a rich vein of form lately winning their last three games and their last home game was a 5-1 massacre of top of the table West Ham.
