I do know my spelling, grammar and punctuation is CRAP. I put it down to my lack of schooling preferring to mitch (truanting from school) rather than go to school. The joke is firmly on me now, which will bring a smile to any of my old English teachers.

Cardiff close in on top two

CARDIFF CITY move up to third in the league after beating Reading 3-1 with a brilliant result at the CCS and are now only two points behind Southampton and West Brom who are on 47 points.

All the goal action happen in the first half with Cardiff opening up with the first goal from Joe Mason and you can bet Reading boss Brian McDermott will have plenty to say about it. There is some question of handball by Mason before the goal that the officials missed, until I see it on TV, it is hard for me to comment. the word ‘blatant’ was used on the Reading side of the fence.

It was not long before Cardiff got there second and with no controversy, just a goal from an in-swinging corner from Peter Whittingham headed home at close range by Aron Gunnarsson. City 2-0 up after 20 minutes the afternoon was starting to feel good and with results around falling into place at one point it looked like City would end up level or in an automatic promotion place until West Ham went on to beat Coventry.

Roll up, roll up, it Miller time for the third of goal for Cardiff yes Kenny Miller his second in two games. Whittingham provide the ball for the Scottish man giving me more points for my fantasy league team. The ball found the grateful who put the ball into the net, 3-0 and the stadium roof lifted off its fixings. Most of the 23,655 crowd were there for that 3-0 play-off massacre back in May of last year killing off a Cardiff City v Swansea City play-off final at Wembley much to the relief of the police. The only good thing to come out of the game was the end of then manager Dave Jones time at the club.

Pity Reading had to pull one back it is always nice to keep a clean sheet, but it was not to be. It was down to former Cardiff City player Jobi McAnuff to firer home just on half time to give them some hope for the second half.

The second half was a lot quieter than the first, but Cardiff had it under control for the most part with a Reading keeper tested. Cardiff midfielder Gunnarsson and goal scored said that they ground out the win in the second half.
