After Brighton saw off Woking in the first round which took a replay, extra time and penalties the reward was more non-league opposition.
Yesterday they welcome FC United of Manchester and club started by fans in protest to Malcolm Glazer's takeover of Manchester United they play in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League.
The non-league club came away with another crack at the current league leader of Division One Brighton after earning a draw. The league club could have won this game but for the FC United keeper who made save after save to keep them out.
After taking the lead in the first half but mid way through the second half a red card saw the non-leaguers reduced to ten men. Brighton got themselves back into the game with a goal with only seven minutes of normal time left. Every Brighton must have thought the game was over when the ref pointed to the spot for a Brighton penalty, but the FC United keeper had other ideas and made a brilliantly injury-time save.
