The paper is reporting at a fan climbed on to the pitch as the Cardiff players was about to take a corner with some reports that a punch was thrown towards the player. Bellamy didn’t react to that incident but was then involved in a heated verbal confrontation with fans around the corner flag area.
Bellamy said:
'The man should not have been on the pitch. I wouldn't have said he threw a punch but it was a stupid situation, he should never have been there, and I was angry because the stewards didn't seem to do anything about it.'Manager David Jones said on the incident:
'It could have been an ugly situation and Craig could have got himself into trouble because of it.
'It's not always easy to turn the other cheek when fans are hurling abuse at you and, whoever the culprit is, he should be banned for life. I thought he had thrown a punch, which is totally unacceptable, and the authorities have to take stern action to prevent incidents like this.
