I do know my spelling, grammar and punctuation is CRAP. I put it down to my lack of schooling preferring to mitch (truanting from school) rather than go to school. The joke is firmly on me now, which will bring a smile to any of my old English teachers.

Bothroyd attracts another rumour

Awhile back Liverpool and Fulham were linked with Cardiff City striker Jay Bothroyd now the ‘Rumour Mill’ has spat out another name today. Reports suggest at Birmingham are contemplating a move for the striker in the January transfers window. It’s not the first time Birmingham has been linked with the Midlands club by the press.

They smell a bargain, but will they get a bargain? With Bothroyd out of contract in the summer and could walk away for free. Come January Bothroyd or his agent on his behalf under Football League rules to talk to other clubs bringing temptation.

However, in January if the Bluebirds are still top of the league table or there and about with boss Dave Jones in the transfer market it could well keep the striker at the club.

Speaking back in August at the start of the season to the Sunday Mirror about his contract he was reported has saying,
“I haven’t spoken to the club about it and once the season starts I don’t want to talk about contracts.
“I want to concentrate on my football – that’s what I’ve always believed in.
“I don’t mind talking about it out of season but once the season beings I want to stay 100 per cent focused on my football.
“I don’t feel unsettled, I’m confident in my own ability.
“I’m not looking ahead to the end of the season or anything like that.
“I want to play at the highest level – as soon as possible – and I’d love to get there with Cardiff.
“I love the city, the club, the fans and I still we can go on and win promotion."
Cardiff City boss Dave Jones and Cardiff City would not want to see another player walk away for free having lost out on millions when Joe Ledley moved to Celtic after his contract run out. On Bothroyd Jones said:
“If Jay wants to wait we will have a decision to make in January if an offer comes in.
“It would be a case of should we sell him or run it through to the end of the season and see what happens?”
Like most player he wants Premier League football and has said he with be happy if it was with Cardiff City.
