That the start of the 2009/10 season Peter Whittingham took over as chief penalty taker from now Leeds player Ross McCormack after the Scotsman success in scoring dried up. It would same the same fate has befallen Whittingham who has developed the same infliction that his old team mate caught.
The City midfielder has missed two in the last three games where has for last season he was dead eye dick in front of goal. In total 10 penalties were taken and scored last season eight going to Whittingham help him to divisional top scorer. The other two were scored be Jay Bothroyd and Michael Chopra both contenders for Whittingham old job.
City boss Dave Jones taking on the subjuct said earlier today,
“Whoever takes the next one, it won’t be Whitts.“He struck both penalties well, but it’s not like him to be so tense. He just needs a goal.“He’s a bit frustrated, but he had the vision to pick out Craig Bellamy for our first goal and he played his part in our second. That’s why he is in the team.”
