I can’t wait to see the back of international break football and get back to league football. Wales’ Euro 2012 chances have all but finished and defeat against Switzerland in Basal would be another nail in the coffin of Welsh international football.
My mind is firmly fixed on next Saturday and the mid-day kick-off against our true rivals Bristol City. They will be visiting the Cardiff City Stadium from a position of rock bottom of the league table, but with a better away form. Cardiff City fans no all to well that the team are notorious for losing to teams at the wrong end of the table.
The Cardiff City boss Dave Jones could have an old face and a new one to fans to choose from for the squad against Bristol City. Michael Chopra is back in full training and close to hitting the target he set himself, to return for the sevenside derby. He has six days to get his match fitness to the level at would see him eligible to be picked for the squad Saturday.
Cardiff fans are still waiting to get a view of Chris Riggott who signed on a free transfer after he decided to move on from is old club Middlesbrough who had turned down a new contract offer from him. Since come on trial he has been put through the mill by Dave Jones and before signing was given the mother of all medicals. He could make the game next weekend is the rumour on the bench.
The situation with Danny Drinkwater is not good according to the unofficial rumour mill. It was hope he would be fit for the Bristol game but he could be out for a while longer. The games he as played as shown Cardiff fans why is parent club Manchester United think so highly of him. The injury is the same problem that cut short his loan last season to Huddersfield.
It looks like the six players who are on international duty with but coming home after Tuesday game injury free unless any get some playing time.
