Finally some rumblings of news on loanee Danny Drinkwater, ok it’s not an official Cardiff City statement but from the South Wales Echo, but new is news or another rumour. He could rejoin his team mates at training next week.
He has been back with his parent club Manchester United receiving treatment for his thigh strain. It is an ongoing injury for the youngester that worry United last season while out on loan with Huddersfield. He still managed to scoring twice in 30 appearances while out on loan.
Cardiff City boss Dave Jones is reported has say in the South Wales Echo:
“Manchester United have far more specialised equipment and are scanning him every few days.“They will let him go when it’s right. We hope he will be back sometime next week.“We will be guided by Manchester United’s medical staff. Sean Connelly, our physio, is in regular contact with them.“Danny has had this injury before and it took a lot longer than it should have to heal. We are still in the early throes of this season and there are a lot of games to go – we must ensure we manager people properly.”
The midfielder has been out for six week and was forging a strong partnership with Jones’ other midfield loanee Seyi Olofinjana signed for the season from Hull City.
Along with the United’s medical team Drinkwater progress will have to be closely checked and possible is weeks away from match fitness. The City squad has been blighted with injuries since the start of the season and Jones having to work hard to keep the momentum going with the team.
