Cardiff City players sit out Euro Friday games

None of the six Cardiff City players out on international duty had any pitch time Friday night.

Darcy Blake and Adam Matthews faired little better on duty with Wales who lost 1-0. Blake sat out the game on the bench while Matthews didn’t make the squad. The Welsh boss Brian Flynn has promised changes for the next game against Switzerland in Basel Tuesday night. He will be forced to make two changes at least with Chris Gutter who will miss the game after his straight red card against Bulgaria and Sam Ricketts for picking up his second yellow of the campaign will be sitting out the game.

Cardiff City defender Gabor Gyepes played no part in Hungary’s 8-0 win over San Marino and didn’t even make the bench. Loanee striker Andy Keogh was on the bench for Republic of Ireland in there 2-3 defeat by Russia at home but remained unused.

The Cardiff defender Kevin McNaughton with the Scottish squad failed to make the squad. Czech Republic came out 1-0 winners we will have to way and see if any of Cardiff manager troops are involved in the next round of games.
