Dave Jones has revealed to the press that winger Peter Whittingham and defender Darcy Blake have both agreed new Cardiff City deals to keep them at the Cardiff City stadium.
Fans have been concerned with the number of first team player who would be out of contract next summer. Until today the only player confirmed to have signed a new deal was full-back Kevin McNaughton.
He is reported has telling BBC Sport:
"Darcy has agreed and it is just a case of getting him in to sign the paper and the same goes with Whitts."We're in negotiations with everyone else - and with some of them, we have been in talks for many weeks."My priority was to get players in then chip away at the others."
Since the departure of Peter Ridsdale the Cardiff boss Jones has been more hands on with the contract talks with players along with chief executive Gethin Jenkins saying,
"It hasn't been easy since the change as I have been more involved in negotiations with Gethin.
They are still work to do in securing the signatures of Jay Bothroyd, Adam Matthews and midfield trio Stephen McPhail, Gavin Rae and Chris Burke.
