City boss Dave Jones will be looking for his players to bounce back from the midweek defeat at Leicester City. Jones bemoaned the fact that he was missing five players at Leicester has injuries hit his squad. Five key players were missing Chopra who is few weeks away from a return while Danny Drinkwater has picked up an old injury that kept him out of the Huddersfield team where he was on loan last season, boss Jones said:
“Danny did go back to Manchester United for an assessment.
“But they are happy with his treatment here and he is back with us.
“Danny had a thigh injury at Huddersfield Town on loan last season. We are not too concerned that it has happened before. He has a problem with part of the thigh muscle, but it is higher up than it was before.”
Of the other three, it is rumoured Craig Bellamy was not on the flight to Ipswich with the team and with Seyi Olofinjana expected to miss the game that leaves Jay Bothroyd who is classed has doubtful.
That would leave more or less the same team that last at Leicester available to face Keane’s Ipswich Town. Ipswich have made a must better start than last season where after six game they were 23rd in the league, before today’s game they are fifth.
Both team go into the game of the back of defeats, City lost 2-1 to Leicester and Ipswich suffering a 3-0 defeat to top of the table QPR. There will be an old face in the home defence, ex-City player Mark Kennedy who spent two season in South Wales before Dave Jones sold him in the summer.
