From having trouble filling the bench for the opening game of the season against Sheffield United Cardiff City boss Dave Jones is awash with choices. Jones revealed the arrival of left-back Lee Naylor in an interview with a USA radio station making it seven players in.

He could be still in the market for another player as the rumour mill is linking former Middlesbrough defender Chris Riggott. The player is training with the Bluebirds with a goal to earn a contract offer. Riggott is a free agent after being released by Middlesbrough in the summer and since he has attracted interest from several Championship clubs.

In the South Wales Echo Jones said about Riggott:

“Chris was due to join us a week ago, but that was delayed because of a family issue. “
“He has been a stalwart at Middlesbrough and not too far back looked likely to be the subject of a big-money transfer to Liverpool.
“When a player of his quality is available we will always be interested.”
