Speculation about the possible swap deal between Cardiff City striker Ross McCormack and Ipswich striker Jon Stead is still in the air. The two clubs are rumour to still be talking with the add-on cash for McCormack a stumbling block.
Like McCormack both players started on the bench for the opening game of the season coming on in the second half with Stead scoring. Stead played the full game in the Carling Cup last night, with the game going into extra time before Ipswich finally winning.
There has been Speculation that McCormack is have talks today with Ipswich boss Roy Keane, if so the chances of him being on the team sheet for Burton Albion tonight would be low. However, if he is in the starting line-up or on the bench it could kill off the rumour. Keane is also being linked with Jason Scotland.
The Bluebirds are being linked with Bolton Wanderers midfielder Danny Ward according to the Daily Mirror. Ward was on loan last season at Swindon where he played 28 games in total, scoring 9 goals he came off the bench 4 times. He as come through the Bolton youth set-up and as yet to make a first team debut.
The paper is calling him an attacker but on the official Bolton website they class him has a midfielder. It is highly unlikely the 19 year-old would be in the Bolton managers 25 squad so a loan deal with someone is likely.
Cardiff City boss Dave Jones, is at the mercy of this new 25 squad rule has he is looking for loan deals. However, until he knows which players are in or out he must wait on the sidelines.
