Kick-off to the new season was on a Saturday years ago all kick-off at 3pm on the dot. Today TV/Sky Sports talks louder than football so the season kick-off last night at newly promoted Norwich, who lost 3-2 to Watford.
Most of the Championship will be kick-off at the traditional time of 3pm on today but for Leeds United whose game against Derby will be screen on BBC 1 starting a 5:15pm the first of ten live Championships they will be showing this season. Cardiff City fans have to wait until Sunday dinner time (12:35pm kick-off) for the game against Sheffield United at the Cardiff City Stadium for the season to get underway. So Sky Sports can screen the game has an appetizer before the FA Community Shield between Chelsea v Man Utd.
I don’t mind the football ball on the TV but I think the kick-off to a new season should at 3pm on a Saturday, like the last games of the season, but they are on a Sunday.
