Ipswich Town manager Roy Keane confirmed this afternoon that his board had excepted on offer from Bristol City for Jon Stead. The deal should go through early next week and with the lost of Jon Walters to Stoke City Keane is short on experience in attack.
With the arrival of Craig Bellamy at Cardiff City Keane is rumoured to be about to make one last attempt to sign City striker Michael Chopra. The report suggests he will offer £4million to secure his number one target, Keane as been keen to signing Chopra seen January.
Keane was looking at Ross McCormack but it turned out to be a tough deal with it involving a swap deal between McCormack and Stead. The city striker can go out on loan or permanent deal if the price was right.
