I do know my spelling, grammar and punctuation is CRAP. I put it down to my lack of schooling preferring to mitch (truanting from school) rather than go to school. The joke is firmly on me now, which will bring a smile to any of my old English teachers.

Jones has a lot to think about

He has a lot to think about - tick-tock
Cardiff boss Dave Jones was right about the Burton Albion game unless the embargo is lifted he will be without a goalkeeper.

Cardiff goalkeeper David Marshall has been included in the Scotland squad to probably warm the bench in Stockholm has the Scot’s take on Sweden Wednesday week. He should be between the posts at the Cardiff City Stadium that night. Lucky for Jones is counterpart the Scottish boss declined calling up Ross McCormack or any of the other Scottish contingent at Cardiff.

The City boss as already lost the services Stephen McPhail who is out for two or three weeks. He can only hope there are no injuries against Sheffield United on Sunday. Jones is waiting on other who could be in line for a call-up, Darcy Blake (Wales), Adam Matthews (Wales Under-21) and Gabor Gyepes (Hungary).

That now leaves Jones with a major problem with Wednesday’s Carling Cup game the same night with Burton Albion visiting CCS and the possibility Jones will have to play an outfield player in goal. I thought like many at Tom Heaton, was signed up and register and would be cover for Marshall but like Danny Drinkwater, both are unable to register until the embargo is lifted.

The rules say a first round game cannot be called off for international call-up mainly because doesn’t affect the majority of clubs in the Football League. The club’s current transfer embargo means Jones cannot strengthen his squad which is on the small side.

Jones siad about Football League,
“We have been told we cannot postpone the tie against Burton, so it doesn’t benefit Championship clubs to have international players.

“The Football League is telling me I’ve got to play, but how can I play without players?”
Jones is going to have to play trainees and have the bench full of them to for filled the fixture. Jones tried to get the embargo lifted but to no avail has the League stood their ground. It is not like the club are sitting back they are trying their upmost to put the club on a stable finance footing. Jones had a pop at the Football League over their treatment of Portsmouth saying,

“How can Portsmouth be five times the amount we are in debt and be allowed to trade?“ I feel it’s wrong.”
