Forest sniffing around Whittingham .... again

Cardiff City midfielder Peter Whittingham is deciding his future today, well according to the ‘This is Nottingham’ website within the next 24hours a source close to Whittingham as revelled?

Whittingham only as a season left on his contract and could do a Ledley if it is left unsigned which would see Cardiff City lose out on a good few millions. The club have said they are in no rush to offer new contracts with some talks. However fans are are starting to worry about the number of players whose contracts are also ending at the same time.

Forest were in trouble with the club a few weeks back when they accused the Forest chief executive Mark Arthur of tapping-up there player. What he said in a radio interview below,

"We've made two bids for Peter Whittingham and both have been turned down.

"They've said publically that they want to keep their best squad together.

"But we are aware he is in his last year of his contract and I'm sure they're not in a financial position where they can afford to let that run down.

"We understand he has rejected a new offer so we have to be a little bit patient and hopefully between now and the end of August we'll be able to bring him in.

"If not, then we'll try to bring him in either in January or at the end of the season when he is out of contract because we know he wants to come to us.

"I don't think anybody knows how much money it will take because Cardiff have said 'we're not selling and not interested in selling.

"And until you get people that are prepared to negotiate you don't know how much extra it is going to take.

If Whittingham was to turn around in the next few days he wants to leave then Cardiff should sell him immediately. Cardiff City boss Dave Jones has said he wants to keep Whittingham and it would take a crazy offer the change the clubs position. The transfer window closes next week.
