A private reserve team match is being arranging by Cardiff City boss Dave Jones so he can checkout defender Chris Riggott. Allow the ex-Middlesbrough has been training with the City he feels a game would dispel any worries over his knee problems. Jones is looking for some cover for his defence by all accounts with the transfer window closing in under 24-hours.
Riggott was offered a new contract with Middlesbrough but choose to move on with a number of club interested but he looks to have plumed for Cardiff. The City boss could use the game to look at a few other players that interest him and use it to show off some of the players he would like to loan out.
The South Wales Echo is linking Calum Davenport and his ex West Ham colleague and Cardiff City old boy Danny Gabbidon with Jones.

Gabbidon his back in the first team but has a shocking injury history and could be a liability so a move there looks unlikely. Both Riggott and Davenport are free agents so the closing of the transfer window will not affect them. Davenport has been at Nottingham Forest then moved on to Leeds United.
During a family argument Davenport was stabbed in the legs, lost 50% of the blood from his body and underwent emergency surgery for injuries described as serious. There was a much publicized count case, on 1 July, this year Davenport was cleared of all charges in regard of the alleged assault on his sister.
