The news broke in the last hour or so but nothing on the official Cardiff City website at time of writing. City boss Dave Jones broke the news to the press at the pre City v Sheffield United press conference.
He said:
"The embargo is off. That has all been sorted. We are now able to register players."
The mean he can register Jason Koumas, Danny Drinkwater, Tom Heaton and Jonathan Meades for the start of the season. It also means he can still source more players to strength his squad, happy times are here again
Cardiff chief executive Gethin Jenkins told BBC Sport
"It has been challenging but we are pleased the embargo has been lifted.
"It means we can register the players we've already brought in.
"And Dave Jones will now come forward with a list of other players he is looking to recruit to strengthen the playing squad.
"I think we have enough money for one or two loanees and free signings but not the money for multi million pound deals.
"Our aim is to keep the starting XI from last season and Dave and I hope to add to that list."
