If you believe the South Wales Echo there is movement with contract talks with the players who only have a season left on their present contracts. So far the only player to sign on for next season is defender Kevin McNaughton.
Allow Jay Bothroyd stated before the start of this season he was not interested in contract talks, he was happy and wanted to concentrate on his football, the club are keen to talk. Bothroyd agent is due to call in for some early preliminary talks next week,
“I haven’t been offered a contract nor had talks,” Bothroyd said this week. “I am not thinking about contracts, just playing.”
Cardiff City boss Dave Jones has confirm talks with a number of other player, has he plans for beyond next season. He doesn’t want to lose any he wants like Joe Ledley who walked after running his contract down.
“The process has already started.
“Kevin McNaughton has signed, while we are close too with Peter Whittingham, Darcy Blake and Adam Matthews, while we spoke to Jay’s representatives the other day and they are coming in over the next few days. It’s the same situation with Stephen McPhail. We have spoken to his agent.”
In the same paper they have Peter Whittingham on the brink of signing new deal with a few thing to sort out.
