Goal scorer Jay Bothroyd speaking in the Sunday Mirror before today’s game talked of the hurt he felt after the Wembley defeat to Blackpool saying,"It was the biggest game of my career - and it ended as the worst."
Talking about his contract he said he wanted to concentrate on his football not contract talk. With a year left on his contract, and with no talks about a new one, the striker said he would prefer not to enter talks during the season.
“I haven’t spoken to the club about it and once the season starts I don’t want to talk about contracts.“I want to concentrate on my football – that’s what I’ve always believed in.“I don’t mind talking about it out of season but once the season beings I want to stay 100 per cent focused on my football.“I don’t feel unsettled, I’m confident in my own ability.“I’m not looking ahead to the end of the season or anything like that.”
He also said about Cardiff,
“I want to play at the highest level – as soon as possible – and I’d love to get there with Cardiff.
“I love the city, the club, the fans and I still we can go on and win promotion."
