Darcy Blake is in Welsh managers John Toshack squad to face Luxembourg in Llanelli, Parc y Scarlets stadium on Wednesday kick-off 7:45pm
It is his first senior call-up and a big turnaround in his futures after he was farm out on loan to Plymouth last season. Cardiff boss Dave Jones sited problems with Blake’s attitude for the loan. He did well at Plymouth knock down to training and did will in the games he played in for Plymouth that they were considering a permanent deal.
Before the implosive of the club the betting was on Blake would never be seen in a Cardiff shirt again. He return to Cardiff has Jones had to change his plans when the club were hit with a transfer embargo, players who were expecting to be loan out or let go found they had to stay to make up the numbers.
Blake showed some solid performances in the run up to the end of the season and earned his place in the play-off games. When the release list was published there was no surprise that Blake was not among them. He club are looking to offer him a new contract.
He will miss the Burton Albion Carling Cup game on Wednesday because of the call-up.
