Burnley manager Brian Laws has step up the hurt for Cardiff City player Peter Whittingham. Laws and as made an offer of £1.75million for last season Championships top scorer but it is well below Cardiff valuation.
Cardiff believe their players is worth £3million that is if they wanted to sell him. We know Dave Jones wants to keep him. After losing Robbie Blake to Bolton Laws sees Whittingham as the perfect replacement. Burnley might have company in the chase for the Cardiff City midfielder with Nottingham Forest watching in the back ground.
Relegated Burnley might have their pockets full of Premiership parachute money but they are not splashing the cash around with Laws not wanting to be held to ransom over transfers. Whittingham has a short loan spell with Burnley back in 2005 playing a total of nine games. Whittingham was a sensation last season winning around some of the boo boys who wanted to see the back of him the previous summer. But a impressive goal telly of 25 goals won the fans around.
He is one of number players who only have one year left on their contracts with the club hoping he will sign a new one soon
