In the statement Jenkins said,
"As is normal procedure, if PAYE isn't paid then HMRC are fully entitled to lodge a petition.
"Cardiff City Football Club fully expect to pay monies owed in the forthcoming week, following which the petition will naturally be withdrawn.
"This hurdle all forms part of the ongoing process of getting the club on a sound business and financial footing."
The Bluebirds owe the tax man a reported £1,331,072 with a High Court appearance pencilled in for August 11. Cardiff could have to payout another £1.5million to Sunderland which is owed on the Michael Chopra deal if a deal can’t be struck with the Premiership club then another transfer embargo. Cardiff is hoping to set up a payment schedule or have set one up.
Cardiff boss Dave Jones had a taste of a transfer embargo for the end of last season with many City fans believing the lack of some new faces was one of the reasons for the failure to gain promotion.
