I do know my spelling, grammar and punctuation is CRAP. I put it down to my lack of schooling preferring to mitch (truanting from school) rather than go to school. The joke is firmly on me now, which will bring a smile to any of my old English teachers.

Road to Nowhere (The Welsh Cup)

I have always done a ‘Road to Wembley’ on my website/blogs over the years, pre-internet and beyond. Last season I decide to do the same with the Welsh Cup. Really the void between the two competitions is massive, money, TV and fans most Welsh fans could tell you who won the Welsh Cup last season, it happen to be Bangor City.

The prize for winning the Welsh Cup the winner is a crack at the UEFA Europa League. While the 6 who are excludes for playing because they play in the English football league system are outside, it will never be a ture reflection of Welsh football. The 6 are - Cardiff City, Swansea City, Wrexham, Newport County, Merthyr Tydfil and Colwyn Bay.

Last season I kick off the road with Cardiff based club Cardiff Bay Harlequins FC in the Preliminary Round until they lost to Prestatyn Town in the third round. Town went in to the semi-final only to lose 2-0 to Bangor City went on to beat Port Talbot Town 3-2 with an injury time goal. I would have much prefured to support Port Talbot in the game as I no the manager

This Welsh Cup I fancy start my road with Fleur de Lys, it’s an old name I remember from the Pinkie (Football Echo) back in the day. There was a Rugby team of the same name I always thought why was there a team with French name playing in Wales, I was young.
