Last season was brought to a crashing halt for midfielder Stephen McPhail with a cancer scare and he was out for three months receiving treatment. Everyone was happy to see him make such a strong comeback.
However, the midfielder will not be in the squad for the kick-off to the season next Sunday after suffering a knee injury. He could miss out on two or three weeks of the season after pick up a injury against Notts County last weekend. He had minor surgery on his knee.
Cardiff City boss Dave Jones said,
“Unfortunately for us we have some injury news in form of Stephen McPhail missing out after a knock at Notts County.
“He’s had some cartilage shaved and will be out fo two to three weeks, which is a shame so close to the new season.
