I do know my spelling, grammar and punctuation is CRAP. I put it down to my lack of schooling preferring to mitch (truanting from school) rather than go to school. The joke is firmly on me now, which will bring a smile to any of my old English teachers.

McNaughton to sign new contract

If Bluebirds boss Dave Jones is about to lose one of his defenders another is rumoured to be on the brink of agreeing a new contract (yes good news).

27-year-old defender Kevin McNaughton's representatives are locked in talks with chief executive Gethin Jenkins to hopefully seal a new improved contract offer. Jenkins has a lot of contract negotiating along with McNaughton there are nine players who are out of contract next summer. It is unlikely all nine would be offer new deal but players of value must be sign after Ledley.

Since joining from Aberdeen in the summer of 2006 McNaughton has been a regular in Dave Jones’ defence and has been used in midfield. He played in total 153 games and only four games off the bench. He scored two goals in that time, Hereford in the FA Cup and Barnsley home both in 2008.

Last season is game was racked with injury he missed the start of the season after picking up an ankle injury during a pre-season friendly against Celtic. In was mid October before he was back for the Crystal Palace but he stayed on the bench. A recurrence of his injury delayed his return for a month but early in the game was taking off with a back injury, it was the start of December before he was back and his season got under way.
