Gillingham have competition for the signature of defender Darren Dennehy who negotiated a release from Cardiff City and is now a free agent. Gillingham boss Andy Hessenthaler said:
“We’re disappointed a bit at his representative as the (Gillingham) chairman had sorted things out.
“We thought we had done the deal but at the last minute he changed his mind.
“That’s football and we understand because he worked for Mark last year.”
He has not had much luck with the Bluebirds since joining back in June 2008. I never played a first team game and was loaned out three times, twice to Hereford and Gillingham.
