I do know my spelling, grammar and punctuation is CRAP. I put it down to my lack of schooling preferring to mitch (truanting from school) rather than go to school. The joke is firmly on me now, which will bring a smile to any of my old English teachers.

Defeat at County

After all the off the field carp at 3pm it was back to football on the field with Cardiff up at Notts County for a pre-season friendly. All Cardiff City what to know what the starting line up is any new faces. Notts County gained promotion last season to Division 1 as champions.

Two noticeable absentees’ from the squad today were striker Jay Bothroyd and Mark Kennedy. Bothroyd miss-out due to a training ground injury suffering to is arm injury which is not believed to be serious. He should be back in contention for the game against Spanish La Liga club Deportivo next Saturday at the Cardiff City Stadium. The other missing player Kennedy is believed to about to sign for Ipswich if reports in today’s press have got in right. The deal is reported to be worth £75,000 to the hard up Bluebirds and a two-year deal for the player a year better than the one he signed for another season with the City.

Cardiff lost 2-1 at Notts County today from match reports and fans that were at the game it was nothing to write home about. City boss Dave Jones is looking at the positives he saw out of the game, two mistakes two goals. Some fans are talking doom and gloom before a ball as been kicked in anger in the league, the dreaded relegation as been mention. The team we have now was good enough to go all the way to the play-off final, three time lucky.

The City may have lost this friendly but if you break the game down to halves, County won the first City won the second. City boss Jones made five changes to the team in the second half give young Nathaniel Jarvis a run-out come on for goal scorer Ross McCormack.

A victory over a Bath City plus two defeats, one in Portugal and today is no way to prepare for Saturday and the first chance for many Cardiff City fans to watch their team play.
