It will be quiet for the next week with Dave Jones taking most of his squad to Portugal for a pre-season training with a friendly thrown in. Three players will be missing out on the trip, Aaron Wildig, Miguel Comminges and Solomon Taiwo, are all to stay behind because they are carrying injuries.
With the Malaysian trip blown out of the water Dave Jones a trip to Portugal this will be the team’s third pre-season camp on the Algarve. City will play Portimonense Sporting Club on Saturday, in the past there has been two or more games on tour, there could be a behind close door friendly if one can be arranged.
It will be interesting to see who the trialists are who will be joining the team. Are they local, or are they UK based if any make the grade, there is still the transfer embargo to sort out.
“There’ll be two or three trialists joining us out there too, so we’ll be taking a good look at them.”The return to the Algarve would not be down to over 35 golf courses to choose from the City boss said,
“We’re staying at a nice hotel in the Algarve with some good training facilities.
“There are certain things we want to work at while we’re out there and it’s all about continuing what we started in the Bath game."
