You go to bed happy thinking nothing else can go wrong with the football team you love, then you turn to the back pages of the News of the World to more heartbreaking headlines ‘New Cardiff bust threat’.
I thought we had seen the back of winding-up orders and the High Court but according to the London based paper we are back in court on August 11 the day we play Burton Albion in the Carling Cup. Is time the tax bill is just over £1,3million is it a new debt or part of the old one I thought was paid in full, Christ it’s not easy being a fan. What is the club said about this new revelation a brief quote from Chief exec Gethin Jenkins,
"HMRC has launched a petition in the event we don't pay the PAYE bill. We are confident of settling it in the next couple of days."
Looks like the club have it all in hand but the thought of administration sends a shiver through any group of football fans. If you go down that road you are hit with a 10-point deduction not helpful but along with keeping the tax man happy City need to keep the Football League onside. With the club owing Sunderland £1.5million with is reported to have not been paid which was due last week. If they complain to the League the Bluebirds face another transfer embargo.
We just have to sit back and see how all this play’s out.
