In today’s Express and Star newspaper it has a story the West Brom boss Roberto Di Matteo is link with a stunning late raid for Cardiff Joe Ledley.
It’s also the Daily Mail touting around this rumour it not a new rumour however the paper believes Di Matteo could get him for around £750,000 in compensation as he is under 24. Where a figure so low from I have no idea, it would be a travesty if that was all Cardiff would receive.
He has been on the books at Cardiff City since he was nine back in 1996 working way through the clubs youth set-up as well has the Wales school boys up to youth. He won a professional contract and since his debut in 2004 he has been nearly ever present in the first team. He has a host of Welsh international cap captaining his country and club.
If there has ever been a player and club who should see a compensation payment base an experience Ledley is the one. Most of these transfer tribunals involve players who have one tenth of Ledley experience. Take Richard Eckersley is club Manchester Unbind received only £500,000 for him they wanted more his playing record, two games both off the bench. Base on that, Ledley should be worth over £10million.
