| Tidy matey ... What's it like at Celtic |
The Echo has a story that Cardiff City have offered Joe Ledley just £11,000 a week to stay with the Bluebirds so that is simply if true it’s a case of bye, bye Joe. It might sound a lot £44,000 a month but Celtic who seem to be the preferred destination of the player and they have tabled a £100,000 a month offer more than double the rumoured offer from Cardiff.
Cardiff have offer Ledley a number of incentives to resign with the Bluebirds, a £150,000 signing-on fee and an appearance clause of £2,000 per game but I would expect Celtic to more than match that because he will sign for them free and will still have a sell on value exceeding £5million. If the club really want him, they will have to think again base of these figure.
They has been a lot of talk about Cardiff having one of the biggest wage bill in the Championship but if Ledley was on £6,500 a week that doesn’t sound much and according to the paper Michael Chopra is on £60,000 a month.
Sunning himself somewhere in Portugal time is ticking with pre-season that far away he needs to make clear about his future so Dave Jones can go about looking for a replacement if he goes. What happen to all this talk of wanting to play in the Premier League? If he was to join Celtic the highlight of the season will the playing Rangers four time a season and trips to Falkirk, Hamilton, St Johnstone and St Mirren twice a season in the league and an early exist out of the Champions League.
Regular first team football in the Championship is better option than a lot of the offer he has received. He could find himself on the bench more times than not are they thing of the player or a future pay day. If Celtic were to get there man it would cost them in wages £1.2million with the Welsh international valued at £5millon plus, they could sell him and make a profit.
Surprisingly there has been no major mover from a Premier League club it’s all been quiet on the English side of the border. A host have been linked Everton and West Ham are just two, Everton have been working hard to sign Leeds striker Jermaine Beckford and now that deal is done maybe to turn to Ledley now. Has for West Ham they have just sign-up their new manager and most of the interest before that came out of the boardroom because of the words, free and cheap.
