| Wanted man for £1.75m |
Burnley has made a reported bid of £1.75million for Cardiff's Peter Whittingham according to the Sun today. I can't see Cardiff City boss Dave Jones wanting to lose one of this star's of last season especially to a Championship rival
He is also want by Nottingham Forest if you believe the rumour mill and they priced the deal at £2million. Whittingham only has a year left on his current contract and the club want to open negotiations on a new one.
The City midfield was Championship and was club top scorer last season, with 25 goals his best from since joining the Bluebirds from Aston Villa. He cost £350,000 to sign for the Bluebirds.
Yesterday Cardiff City chief executive Gethin Jenkins has fired off a broadside on all the potential bidders after striker Michael Chopra. He probably meant it to cover all players with a price being placed on their heads by others. He sent out a statement that Cardiff City doesn’t need to sell.
