Nottingham Forest are rumoured to be interest in Cardiff City and Championship top scorer Peter Whittingham.
According to the Daily Star and other outlets Forest boss Billy Davies is to make a £2 million for the player who join the Bluebirds in January 2007 for a reported fee of £350,000. West Ham have also expressed a interest at the same price but City Dave Jones made his wishes clear to the new owners he wants to hang on to his team from last season.
Whittingham will be out of contract next summer and Dave Jones has plans to out negotiation about a new one. After the fiasco surrounding Ledley it is extremely important to secure his signature before January when he will be able to line up a new club. There is also a number of the present squad who are in the same boat, out of contract next summer.
So with new players and resigning the likes of Adam Matthews, Jay Bothroyd and others it going to be a busy time of negotiating. Dave Jones has hand over a list of around 10 players he would like to sign while Steve Borley also has the job of talking to players see their plans in talks about their futures with Stephen McPhail, Kevin McNaughton, Darcy Blake, Chris Burke and Gavin Rae on the list. Most would be happy to sign new contracts.
Along with Whittingham other who have had interest express in them are Jay Bothroyd who has sparked the interest from Birmingham and there has be enquires about Michael Chopra and a reported offer from Ipswich.
