Jones linked with Hull again

Going nowhere
CARDIFF City is facing renewed interest from Hull for boss Dave Jones according to press speculation today. The lateness chatter comes via the Hull Daily Mail yesterday and picked up today in local and national press.

The Humberside paper was quoting a source trumpeting Jones as the ideal manager for the job in hand as a “proven manager”. Hull who are working under self-imposed financial restrictions after relegation for the Premier League last season have been try all summer to off load some of their top wage earns. They like the thought of Jones because he can work on a tight budget and has a nose for a bargin in the transfer markets.

The Hull chairman is reported has saying he would be willing to match Jones the reported £750,000-a-year wages James is reputed to recive from Cardiff City.  However he could not afford to paying compensation if Cardiff demanded it.

They (Hull Daily Mail) have also reported in the same article that the Cardiff City boss has a strained relationship with the clubs new Malaysian owners. Jones is in fact out in Malaysia a guest of Vincent Tan and Tien Ghee has he checks out facilities before the pre-season tour of Malaysia.

Jones is reported to have met with the Malaysian backers while in the country for informal talks and has press the case for his squad and further signings. There is internet chatter that the City has been told they can up the offer for Bellamy and a better offer to Joe Ledley. They have shown their commitment to Dave Jones by their refusal to sanction sale of players.

Cardiff has faced interest in Dave Jones before with West Brom being the closest to steal him away from the Bluebirds . There is no advantage for him to taking a job with a rival Championship club who are expected to have a tough time next season. Has it looks at the moment Jones is going to have the squad he wanted minus Ledley maybe. If he can keep hold of Michael Chopra and Peter Whittingham and add a few new players Cardiff could again be a force in the Championship again this season coming.
