| On his travels again |
Gillingham manager Andy Hessenthaler is considering a move for Cardiff City defender Darren Dennehy.
Dennehy signed for Cardiff from Everton in the summer of 2008 after he turned down a new contract with the Merseyside team in search for first team football. He signed a three year with the City with boss Dave Jones said at the time of him been a good prospect for the future. He looked to have start well in the pre-season at Carmarthen he received good reviews in the 5-0 win.
At the start of the season he had all but disappeared it was not until Jones loaned after Christmas him to Hereford that many fans realised he was still here. He player in three games while on loan. He was back at the club in the summer but it was not long before Hereford was on the phone asking for a second loan deal. His second spell was much more fruitful playing more games however he returned to Cardiff before January.
Before he could put his foot under the table Dave Jones loaned him out again this time to Gillingham at the end of January. His was probably his best move in a struggling team and drew many plaudits on his performances. He returned again to Cardiff just before the end of the season and Gillingham ended the season relegated to Division Two.
His old boss at the Kent club Mark Stimson fell on the sword after the relegation but new Andy Hessenthaler wants to take him back to at the Gills. He said: “It’ll be maybe as another loan or a permanent deal. We are talking with his agent but we’re not sure, it all depends on what Cardiff decides to do with him.”
Jones will probably do a deal is future just don’t seem to be with Cardiff City he has never play a game for the first team.
