I do know my spelling, grammar and punctuation is CRAP. I put it down to my lack of schooling preferring to mitch (truanting from school) rather than go to school. The joke is firmly on me now, which will bring a smile to any of my old English teachers.

Howard not a target - Steve Borley

Steve Borley
The Echo could be an interesting buy for Cardiff City as they are promoting an exclusive interview with board member and true Cardiff City fan, Steve Borley in tomorrow's edition.

The paper is promising the world on the Craig Bellamy rumour, Hull interest in City boss Dave Jones and the chances of keeping Ledley.

Borley did tell the Echo today Cardiff have no interest in Leicester City striker Steve Howard who was rumours to be a £500,000 target although he has been a target in the past for Dave Jones. On the Leicester City striker Borley said, “Steve Howard is not a target for us this summer.

“The question really is, why would we want to sign a 34-year-old striker?

“The answer is, we don’t want one.

“It is obviously a time of year when players are linked with many clubs.

“More often than not the rumours are not true as is the case with this one.”

Cardiff boss Jones see’ cover for Jay Bothroyd as a priority which could be seen by any City fan at the Play-off final when he limped off with a calf injury, there was just no one on the bench or in the squad to replace him.

Steve Borley is handling Cardiff’s transfer dealings within the new set-up since the Malaysian’s take-over and has a number of transfer targets and expects the transfer dealings to hot up in the next week.

He added: “In my experience deals start to happen at the end of June and the start of July and that is going to be an important period for us.”
