| “It’s bootiful” |
In the book of revelation it says ‘If two become one the city on the Taff will be no more’ scholars are led to believe is prediction doom surrounds the Clarks Pie.
The prophecy seems to be bearing some fruit with the shocking news that the two Clark’s bakeries at both shop are set to merge the production of the famous Cardiff pie. All the pies and pasties will now be made at Victoria Park shop. The Grangetown shop will remind open and supplied with pies, the Grangetown production line and staff moving to the Vicky Park shop.
When it comes to a Clarkies Pie you find most fans can be split into two camps base on taste anyway the Victoria Park shop or the Grangetown premises people are adamant they can taste different even if the recipe is said same for both pies. There is another camp those how couldn’t gave a flying feck as long as the trademark Clarpie stamped on the bottom of the pie. Fans of each pie are wondering if there will be two production lines each producing their own pies or could they club together and create a new uber-pie.
I am split over the shop I love the filling from Victoria Park but prefer the pasty from Grangetown which I find lighter however the pasties are the same in both shops and I do love pasties or two. The only thing missing is a sausage roll maybe they could set up a research and development unit and look into the possibility.
Dennis Dutch said from Clark’s pie HQ, “It’s an exciting time for the company.
“Merging our two bakeries will focus expertise on one site, which will help to make us fitter for the future.
“While there will be some reorganisation of staffing, there will be no compulsory redundancies and, so far as our loyal customers are concerned, business will continue.
“We can reassure customers that the recipe, which makes Clark’s Pies unique, will remain unchanged.”
