The vultures are circling the Cardiff City Stadium with the season comes to a close, what can they smell 'bargains'. With the club next to broke and living from day to day the only assets left to be strip are the players and some clubs can already sniff a summer sale in the air. There were a reported 10 clubs with scouts at yesterdays’ game with watch briefs, top of the list would be free agent Joe Ledley who can walk free in the summer. With only a compensation fee to pay for Ledley could go on the cheap, way below the clubs valuation of £6 million. Others must be Adam Matthews Jay Bothroyd, Chris Burke, Peter Whittingham and Michael Chopra all have excellent season and would all be on Cardiff City manager Dave Jones wish list to still be his players next season.
Everything is resting on promotion and the money that would generate, Dave Jones could keep the players he wants and even Joe Ledley could resign. If the tax bill has been pay the club can press on with getting the transfer embargo lifted. Without promotion one or two of the players could be sold depending on the clubs new investment. We can be sure the scouts will make watching the Bluebirds a regular fixture over the next few games.
