It is a Sheffield weekend for the two Welsh clubs in the Championship this weekend Cardiff City face Wednesday at the Cardiff City Stadium and our rivals down the road travel to Sheffield and face United.
Wednesday travel to Cardiff with a desperate for points in a relegated position and if they were to lose Saturday and Watford and Crystal Palace win they would be relegated. It will be a hard game both want points Cardiff could still finish third which would be their highest League finish since 1971. On top of that we owe Wednesday one after last season for putting a damp squid on the celebrations for the end of Ninian Park and for helping to deny our play-off place last season.
One side of Sheffield will be happy if Cardiff win, the red side although I bet many a fan will miss the derby game but enjoy the relegation pain of their blue neighbours.
Cardiff boss Dave Jones could rest a few players with a number of players back from injury there is only to games left to give these players a run-out. If Jones was to do this it could have repercussion with Watford and Crystal Palace thinking it would give an advantage to their relegation threaten rivals. But the changes he has in mind if the reports are true is to player first team players no kids.
Meanwhile, Swansea need nothing more a victory over the other Sheffield club to cement their place in the play-off with Blackpool breathing down their neck. Blackpool are away to relegated Peterborough this Saturday and are two points behind Swansea.
