Cardiff City manager Dave Jones will have to decide between Ross McCormack and Michael Chopra to partner Jay Bothroyd for the Watford game Sunday. Chopra is back from his two match suspension and is ready to rejoin the battle to keep City in the play-off places.
Until recently the Scottish international has been playing in a wide/midfield role but is partnership with Bothroyd over the last few games have yielded no goals. The return from the forward line this season has been fair poor with the backbone of the goals coming from midfielder Peter Whittingham who is the Championship’s top scorer.
Chopra has been scoring goals intermittently throughout the season he has played 33 games so far this season scoring in eight of these games due to multiple goals. Compared with Whittingham who has played the same number of games scoring 17 times spread over 15 games.
Sometimes the manager is hard to guess, he was annoyed with Chopra for his two match suspension so will the City striker start from the bench, Jones has preferred a Chopra/Bothroyd partnership all season will he go with them again. McCormack had a good game on Tuesday night at Coventry he had a few chances, failing to score but his work rate around the pitch was high will he get a start or even make the midfield. One person knows but the fans will have to wait until a hour before kick-off Sunday.
