Cardiff City chairman Peter Ridsdale must the thick shined because he will be in line for shed loads of abuse over the latest statement on the official website.
He has called on supporters who did not buy their season ticket during the ‘Golden Ticket’ offer to renew their season tickets for next season. Only 10,000 Cardiff City fans took up the offer, 6,000 of the current 16,000 season ticket holders have yet to pledge their money, and the club would like to get there hand on it and you have only until March 31.
It will be hard to see them jump in to get new season tickets for next season after what happen to the previous money, which was promise to boss Dave Jones for new players for the final push that have been lacking before. The money ended up paying wages and the taxman, which lead to protests and the call for Ridsdale to go.
The club are calling on fans to ‘back the club’ in particularly the 6,000 season ticket holders however the fans I can predict the 6,000 will not be smashing down the door to the ticket office to get a ticket. The club always have a second shot at season ticket sales after doing a special deal but to shift this lot will need promotion. The whole thing smacks of extreme anxiety on the clubs part, but this time there are no grand promises about the money there is surely only one place for that to go, paying off debt. The club are saying they can pay the taxman be why wait until the court day sure they are not going to make another part payment if the taxman will agree to one again.
Cardiff's official website read, "In looking for external investment we are concerned to demonstrate the strength of our supporter base. We clearly recognise the recent negative publicity surrounding the club has given some supporters cause for concern, however it is now extremely important that we move on and work together to secure the future success of this football club.
"As part of this it is important that as many existing, as well as new season ticket holders, purchase their ticket for next season before the end of March." >>>>> Link to Cardiff City Statement
