I do know my spelling, grammar and punctuation is CRAP. I put it down to my lack of schooling preferring to mitch (truanting from school) rather than go to school. The joke is firmly on me now, which will bring a smile to any of my old English teachers.

Barnsley win made me feel miserable

Not a good day that the office for the Bluebirds today on the pitch or in the stands. Schoolboy defending in the first 12 minutes cost Cardiff City the game and three points but what about the rest of the game, some 78 minutes plus. Well for the rest of the game it was a case of schoolboy football all round has the hapless Cardiff never looked like there were going to claw themselves back.

Manager Dave Jones said after the match, “We showed a lack of awareness defensively and they were crazy goals to give away,”
“Our passing and movement wasn’t right and there was no sustained pressure.
“We played at too slow a tempo and one or two heads dropped, so welcome to the real world.
“The two central defenders were done by simple through-balls but the full-backs and midfield players are also responsible.
“They can look at fatigue as a reason but we are better than that and never worked hard enough.”

While Cardiff pointed points against Barnsley team above and below us were collecting points but for West Brom who play away at Bristol City later today. Cardiff have dropped 4 points off the pace of the top 4 in the league table and are how head of a small group fight it out for the bottom two play-off places. That could all change Cardiff only have 15 games to consolidate their position in the top six. I hope that is well before the last game of the season.

It is the EGM next week with most fans hoping for some kind of vote of no confidence in Chairman Peter Ridsdale at could see him out the door, but who would want the job. The land deal the reason for the meeting should glide through and Ridsdale said on the Week in Week out programme he would be willing to discuss other issues. We will just have to wait and see.

No midweek game should help with boss Dave Jones with a rest for his injury player’s before Preston a Saturday.

Everyone is beating everybody this season in the Championship. Just when you think your team has started a good run they go and lose to a team that hasn't won for a while!

I'm a Boro fan and I blog about my team on Football United. We need a load more Championship blogs on there so if you are interested in joining just give me a shout at stuartwillyoung[at]hotmail[dot]com

My blog has seen lots more traffic come my way since joining their platform plus it would be good top get some banter between the promotion pushers in the Championship! Cheers, Stu
