It was thought Cardiff midfielder Joe Ledley would miss the rest of the season with the player himself only optimistic of being fit around play-offs time that if the Bluebirds reach them. After his two hip operations he now believes he could be back has early as April. It would be great news for manager Dave Jones to have him available for the running to the end of the season especially if Cardiff are still in contention for a promotion push. Ledley told the South Wales Echo, “The first op went really well, while the second was just as good.
“I am still keen to play again this season.”
There are some big games in April the Welsh derby game starts of April and based on the league table today would be a top of the table clash and that would be followed two days later with a trip to Nottingham Forest again a massive game, both game are being televised.
The four games left after them, two are against teams currently in the bottom half of the table, Reading at the CCS followed by a trip to London to face QPR who could have a new manager by then. Cardiff last home game of the season (hopefully in front of a full ground celebrating promotion) will be against Sheffield Wednesday. The last game is away with a trip to Derby unless of course, we make the play-off then there is up two or three games left.
Unless we bet the odds and get promotion it could be the last time Joe Ledley’s plays for the Bluebirds has he will be out of contract and free to find himself a new club.
