Injury hell for Dave Jones

It is good the club have a 28-day reprieve but where does that leave Cardiff manager Dave Jones with the transfer embargo still in place. With the mounting injury problems, Cardiff will soon be playing academy players.

Last night three players were added to the ever-growing number on the sick list. Stephen McPhail went to hospital during the game last night after picking up a rib injury, he had only just come back into the team following a long apsents it is unsure if he will be fit for Chelsea Saturday. Darcy Blake when off early into the game with back trouble and according to his manager he is also having with his calves, meaning Cardiff have lost two more midfielders.

Jay Bothroyd was reported as only 50/50 for the victory over Peterborough last night, he played a full 90 minutes before coming off at the start of extra time. He could be doubtful for Chelsea with reported ankle ligament damage.

Others on the injury list or on loan
Kevin McNaughton Tony Capaldi Miguel Cummings Gabor Gyepes Adam Matthews
Mark Hudson out for two months
Joe Ledley out until the end of the season
Gavin Rae out injuried
Josh Magennis broke leg
Kelvin Etuhu still out
Aaron Morris on loan Newport
Darren Dennehy on loan Gillingham

Surely, representation should be made to the Football League to see if the transfer embargo can be lifted so the club could bring in a few loan players, if the club could afford them sound unlikely. Without new faces at the club boss Jones will be forced to play players who are not 100% fit.
