Back to the bread and butter now, no more cup games to interfere with the relentless push for promotion starting with West Brom tomorrow night.
The top of table clash at the Cardiff City Stadium with see the Bluebirds have a chance complete the double over our promotion rivals, they have already suffered defeat to the City losing 2-0 at the Hawthorns.
Both teams were involved in the FA Cup last weekend but only one was in the pot for the 6th round draw after West Brom drew with Reading, the draw will not help West Brom with a possible fixture pile-up. If they beat Reading in the replay, next up would be the winners of the Aston Villa/Crystal Place replay. If Cardiff had beaten Chelsea a semi-final, they would have taken on the winners of the Manchester City/Stoke City replay
Once again, Cardiff boss Dave Jones will have to wait on the fitness of Jay Bothroyd revealed in the press today that he needed an injection on his damaged ankle before the Chelsea game Saturday. He is hoping to be fit for the Tuesday night game but will have to wait until a few hours before kick-off before he is sure. There was a few surprise in the squad at Chelsea Gavin Rea was in the starting line-up when it was believed he would miss the game with a hamstring injury. Another was Darcy Blake's coming on for Rea late into the second half after recovering from a back problem but fit enough for Stamford Bridge.
Tony Capaldi will be available after being cup-tied on Saturday.
