There is a little rumbling of discontent outside the manager’s office with Ross McCormack asking for opportunity of a first team start tomorrow against play-off rivals Blackpool. He did start against Peterborough and had a good game with a few chances but was taken off twenty minutes before the end. He would have started against Bristol City last Saturday if the game was not called off according to Cardiff boss Dave Jones. The Scottish international has been playing understudy to Michael Chopra so far this season but with Chopra in a vain of poor form in front of goal, his last goal was way back at the end of September, you would thing McCormack would have got a few more starts. McCormack told the South Wales Echo, “It has been a bit frustrating but I’ve been patient on the sidelines and you can’t really say anything when the team is winning, scoring and playing some really good football.
“The only thing I could do was work hard in training and once my chance comes make sure I’m ready for it.
“It will take three, four, possibly five games to get match fit and hopefully I will be given that chance.
“If I’m playing tomorrow, I’ve obviously got to play well ... and not give the gaffer any excuse to drop me for Chopra or anybody”
McCormack must have seen all this coming that’s why he was looking for a move in the summer. Hull City wanted him but would not meet the clubs valuation, it left him out on the limb with the fans but that was short lived. I will be interest to see who Dave Jones goes for .to play alongside Bothroyd.
